Over the past 15 years we have built up an enviable list of blue chip clients that includes high profile government departments, the Ministry of Defence, and a number of world class financial institutions.
This says more about the quality of our service than words ever can—a company does not work for this calibre of client, over such a long period, unless they deliver first class solutions time after time, no matter what. We also work with a wide variety of small to medium size companies who have come to rely on us for all their electrical needs.
Electrical breakdown
The primary reason people call us is because they have a breakdown. This might be anything from power or lighting failure to an air conditioning issue or a UPS overload problem. Recently we’ve had to help clients cope with a wide variety of challenges caused by the flooding and subsequent power failures. In all of these situations we must provide a rapid and effective response.
Heat and power generation issues
We’ve recently completed the installation of a combined heat and power generation system for the local leisure centre. The management were so impressed with the manner in which we approached the job that they have now asked us to look at further works for them around the country.
Environmental awareness and cost reduction
We’ve just completed a 1,112 light fitting installation in one of our clients’ data management and IT centre. The computers do not require lighting so for most of the time they operate in darkness. If someone enters a particular area, however, the lights come on automatically, then dim behind them as they move on. Not only does that reduce the bill for electricity by 85% but it also increases the life of the fittings. What’s more, these suites are now 3.5°C cooler, so the air conditioning is less expensive to run and CO2 emissions have been reduced by about 1000 tons over the lifetime of the installation. The project will repay its capital costs in just over one year.
On another project we installed £120,000 of lights in a bank’s computer centre. The reduction in energy consumption meant that the cost was recouped in just 11 months.
Excessive power loads
A client in Bristol was running up against their electrical supply limits. We put a generator at the back of the building and programmed in some CTs to control the generator. This meant that whenever they approached capacity and ran the risk of blowing the fuses, the generator would start. The management system then automatically transferred the air conditioning load onto the generator. When loads dropped again and everything was safe once more the system would automatically switch off the generator and put the load back.
Office refurbishment
The Gloucester Citizen commissioned us to refurbish their new city centre offices. This included all electrical work, security systems and access control, air conditioning, floors and suspended ceilings. We successfully completed this complex project in just eight weeks whilst minimising disruption.
Facilities management issues
We work for some large legal practices that don’t have their own facilities managers. We do everything for them. We’ve fitted new kitchens for several of these clients, project managing the entire exercise from start to finish.
